Finally, let there be HD Matrix LED light in the US. Audi claimed a while back (before any of this legislation) that if these were ever legalized in the US they'd be able to activate the disabled functionality in cars equipped with the hardware. Now let's see if they stick to that, or if they try to tack on some absurd charge.
Jan 11, 2022 · These two levels are in addition a third option in the Chronos package, the "Digital Matrix headlights". Unfortunately, there is a nearly $10K jump between each of the three levels. If there is a big difference between the LED headlights and the Matrix-Design LED headlights with the capabilities turned off, I will probably go for that.

Has anyone had issues with the DRL on a matrix led headlight? Still have 2/3 leds working on the DRL, the top one stopped suddenly asking because, i m thinking, either the power module doesn t send energy to that led (which would be an easy fix/part exchange) or the led is burnt and I understood that the entire headlight needs to be dissambled and checked or headlight replaced entirely

Mar 19, 2022 · Long story short, existing headlights can’t and won’t be activated. Maybe new cars going forward will have that ability if the regulations haven’t been signed into law yet. I have retrofitted Matrix HD to my A6 C8 - (HD Matrix 8G5) The car was original equipped from the factory with Smart Matrix (8G4) Since the car was borne with matrix light, the retrofit is basically, Headlight change and coding in 09 & A5.
