Some say b8 stop at 2015, and b9's start at 2016+, but others say b8's end at 2016. Can somebody please clarify. Technically, there is a 2016 B8.5 Allroad. Minor changes. I know because I bought a 2015 and I was just watching the model progress and it stopped in 2016. B9 may have come out in 2016 but as a 2017 model.

Drive select has the ride height adjustment to make the S5 sit higher or lower. The Sports differential option does not have the ride adjustment, but has everything else and $3000 cheaper. The Sports Differential is the most important aspect - you can live without the full drive select. This is not true at all.

The 0BF sport rear diff was optional on the B8.0 and the B8.5 S4. So any specific S4 you're looking at may or may not have it. If it doesn't, it'll have the 0BC open rear diff. The front diff is always an open diff. The center diff is always going to be a Torsen, not a Crown.

The difference in stage 1 and stage 2 is very small dollar for dollar. Its different for the B8 vs the B8.5 but on paper (removing the buyers confirmation bias) it isn't worth it. The peak gain is 19awhp, but the average gain is about 13 across the band
